In a ceremony held in July of this year, in the Rioja wine region in Spain, Catena Zapata, a LETIS client, was voted as Number One in the World’s Best Vineyards.

Founded in 1902, it is the oldest Argentine family-owned winery and is known for its pioneering role in redefining Malbec.

Catena Zapata also secured the title of the best vineyard in South America, and this year, they opened their first restaurant, Angélica Cocina Maestra, located in the La Pirámide vineyard.

The prestigious annual list of the best vineyards recognizes the best in wine tourism worldwide, with a focus on providing the best travel experiences for wine enthusiasts, not just the quality of the wines.

Wine tastings, unique culinary experiences, and accommodations are essential for wine tourists, and this list offers an excellent guide.

Among the top ten vineyards in the world, notable names stand out. The prestigious “Marqués de Riscal” claimed the second spot, being named the best vineyard in Europe, while the Chilean vineyard “VIK” moved up to the third place. “Creation” in South Africa took the fourth place and was awarded the champion of Africa. The fifth place was held by “Château Smith Haut Lafitte” in France, followed by “Bodega Garzón” in Uruguay (sixth place), “Montes” in Chile in seventh, “Schloss Johannisberg” in Germany in eighth, “Bodegas Salentein” in Argentina in ninth, and “El Enemigo Wines” in Argentina in tenth.
